Foundational training for newly appointed constables.
Home / Training
Introduction
Training at PTC Hangu prepares recruits for police duty and carries serving personnel through the promotional and specialised courses of their careers. Instruction combines drill and physical development with the law, professional knowledge and practical police work.
Courses are conducted to the standards laid down in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Training Policy and the College’s training manual. Detailed course content, schedules and internal instructions are issued to trainees and units directly and are not published on this website.
01 — Foundation
The Basic Recruit Course is the foundation of a constable’s service. It establishes bearing and discipline, physical fitness, weapon handling and drill, and introduces the body of law a police officer is required to apply from the first day of duty.
Recruits are assessed continuously through the course. Certification at the end of training is the point at which the College attests that a recruit is fit for duty.
02 — Specialisation
Shorter, focused courses build particular competencies in serving personnel. The College conducts the Weapon Course, Gas Course, Section Course, Platoon Commander Course and Drill Course.
These courses are open to personnel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and, increasingly, to law enforcement agencies from elsewhere in Pakistan.
03 — Progression
The Lower, Intermediate, Upper and Advance Courses support professional development and career progression through the ranks. The Advance Course is the senior course conducted at the College; the 18th Advance Course concluded in June 2025.
